All forum members are invited to attend The Third Annual Cripple Creek Tesla Rally. The Colorado Springs Electric Vehicle Club (CSEVC) is sponsoring this main event on our calendar! The city wants to continue to call it a Tesla rally but it is actually for any EV! There will be MOSTLY Teslas! Here are the details: FOR TESLA/EV OWNERS and PARTICIPANTS:
Meet in Heritage Center (Cripple Creek, CO) parking lot at 10:00 a.m.

10:30 a.m. – Parade of EVs down Bennett Avenue

11:00 a.m. – 4:00pm – Beer, Food, Music, and Fun in the City Lot on the corner of 4th and Bennett Avenue. Your EVs will be on display for the public to view.

5:00 p.m. – Private Cocktail Reception for EV owners at Wildwood Casino

Those of us coming from Colorado Springs (who wish to drive together) will meet up earlier in Colorado springs for the drive to Cripple Creek. I will post additional details right here about one week prior. Put it on your calendar NOW!

Colorado Springs EV Club

All is in readiness for the club to drive to Cripple Creek on Saturday!! We will be visiting the City of Cripple Creek Tesla and EV Festival, Saturday August 12, 2017! Here is the PLAN:
• The Century Casino has reinstalled their two (one Tesla wall charger + 1 30 amp Clipper Creek J1772) chargers. Charging is CRITICALLY short for non-Teslas! There will be just THREE J1772 chargers available for our use. One is located in the City of Cripple Creek Municipal Parking lot, across from City Hall, one at the Century Casino, the other is located at the Wildwood Casino. Those of you EV owners who will need to charge to get back home, need to plan for congestion at the three J1772s. Please allow those needing to charge FIRST CHOICE at the three chargers!
• Teslas: Tesla owners will not need a charge in Cripple Creek to drive up and back from Colorado Springs. There is a supercharger in Colorado Springs. Make sure you have a high charge prior to leaving CS! It is 50 miles from CS to CC, and 50 miles back. The drive back requires very little charge, since it is mostly downhill. If it is COLD, (unlikely), the drive requires MORE charge, to keep the battery and occupants warm.
• Meet up: 9AM! Those wanting to drive to CC in a group, please meet up at the parking lot near KFC, 3101 W. Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs. This is actually the Southwest corner of the intersection of 31st Street and Colorado Avenue. There is easy entrance onto Highway 24 from there. Show up 30 minutes early to chat with other EV owners! Wilson will be there to coordinate the drive up.
• Around 10 AM: Those not wishing to drive in a group, please meet the driving up together group at the Cripple Creek Heritage Center parking lot, which is located on the right, just before entering the city of CC. I, (Mac) will drive to CC early and I will be at the Heritage Center to round up those meeting there. Streets MAY be blocked for the event, but we will drive into town, move a barricade if necessary, and park in the Municipal Parking Lot. One EV needing to charge, can stop at the Wildwood Casino on the way into town. Someone please offer the people in this car a lift on down to the event.
• Lunch: Since there will be too many people to arrange a reserved dining area, we will be dining in small groups!
• If you know who you want to eat with, set a time and make reservations.
• After lunch, we hang out near our cars and answer questions from the public, look at the town, or gamble. There will be no official end time.
* At 5 PM, there will be an official COCKTAIL PARTY at the Wildwood Casino. Cocktails now cost money, but the snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are free (I think). Kids cannot attend since it is in a casino.
• If you are driving a limited-range EV, you might consider one of these suggestions: 1. Drive up extra early and charge up before the group hits. 2. Stay extra late, charge after everyone else leaves. Or: Spend the night! You could stay anywhere in town and use the Tesla wall chargers. As a note, the Carr Manor Hotel has a single Tesla wall charger for guests only. If you wanted to stay there, (and no one else is there), you could probably plug in all night. This charger is LOCKED. You must be a guest to use it.
See you on Saturday!
