So i took my Model 3 into a local shop to get the state safety inspection done because the tesla dealership near me does not do them. The top portion of the dash when i got it back had a slit in it. I have never had an issue where a garage damaged my car before. I brought it back and they said they wanted to help fix it. I called the tesla dealership and they told me not to let them work on it as it would void the warranty. (3 years left) i said this to the garage owner and they said its illegal for them to void my warranty and i dont know what im doing and tesla wants me to take it to them and pay out of pocket 2 grand for the whole dash to be replaced and i haven't approved the estamate yet because im worried im gonna get boned out of 2k. I asked if the dealership had a finaial specialist or insurance specialist i could talk to but they do not.

so to sum it all up the garage wants me to let them get the part and fix it. Tesla wants me to pay them out of pocket to fix it and get the garage to pay me the owner back. Any tips?
