I want to say that I am only posting this as I laughed (and my TESLA delivery rep, while extremely embarrassed also laughed) and not to be bashing any of my delivery experience.
Today my 12 year old daughter and I took an Uber to pick up my Model 3 Performance. I should note that last weekend was a failed attempt at picking my leased Model 3 because upon arriving at the store (an hour earlier then my delivery time) they called me to say the leasing computers were down and they had to postpone my delivery. I told them I just walked in. To make a long story short, they at least paid for my Uber back home.......
So today I wasn’t sure what to expect. I heard of some TESLA deliveries not including the personal touch of setting up the car or taking a delivery in a group. None of that happened. They were mostly on time with my delivery and took the time to walk me around the car before signing the lease. After we made some notes of a few small issues (missing the Performance spoiler and mostly paint issues but I was leasing a demo car so not sure what was a factory issue or the fact the car had 2300 miles on it) we proceeded to all get in the car to set up my phone and walk me through the car.
My 12 year old was in the back seat and the young female rep was in the passenger seat. As she went through all of the features and configurations she then moved to the web browser. This is where the wheels fell off. When she hit the web browser icon it opened up to show a page full of porn...fully naked, exposed and in full action. She turned as red as the coat of paint on my car and quickly we both hit anything on the screen that would close it so my daughter wouldn’t notice.
Long story short, after 3 minutes of a combination of laughing and her profusely apologizing, we continued on. As we completed the tutorial of the car’s settings, she left the car and said goodbye. My daughter and I sat for a few more minutes setting up the navigation when the manager came running out. He apologized and said they would look into why this happened. I said it’s not a big deal but if he could make sure that I get my performance spoiler and they address the paint issues, I would be more then happy.
Anyways, I am now a happy TESLA owner. Just thought this was comical and was happy to report that even though there are record deliveries this quarter I feel like I got the attention I deserved as a new order.
