Sorry to hear that Deepak is leaving Tesla team.

Just wanted to say that I appreciate his critical contribution in Tesla's growth, not to mention share price stellar growth.

All that hard work deserves a big thank you not only from your boss but also from us here who are getting plenty of benefits on the back of that work.

All the best and enjoy ticking off these fun items on your list, once they let you go

Thank you, Auzie, for starting this thread, and thank you, Deepak, for all those endless hours through high and low times.

Deepak: if you're reading this and if, as it is for so many people, a trip to Alaska is one of those items on your bucket list, please drop an email (or PM).

Yes. Indeed thank you Deepak. Awesome CFO. After listening to every call I really enjoyed and picked up some of your style in answering some of the questions and use it in my own finance career. Hugely influential and powerful behind the scenes force at Tesla.

Deepak's brilliant and creative financial engineering really worked wonders for Tesla

The metaphor that comes to mind is Deepak balancing Tesla on a financial tightrope over the abyss and both coming out alive on the other side.

Makes me wonder about his bucket list. Leaving Tesla might create a vacuum that could be difficult to fill. Nothing really measures up after such an intense experience, maybe some rest and peace are well deserved and overdue.

Make the best of it Deepak.

Deepak was hired shortly after Franz in 2008. JB has been there since day 1, Elon was an early investor. Obviously Musk outshines and overshadows in the public perception, but the stability of the top four C-level executives has been a major strength of the company.

Best wishes to Deepak and his family. Enjoy the good life!

Deepak you are miscalculating, forget the bucket list and stay. You will be bored very soon.
You took immense risk, now reap the rewards, the best is ahead.

Strange since his wish was to "retire" back in June?

Now he is already joining other boards?

Not so strange. I'm sure it's a much lighter work load.

Being a corporate board member is likely a small fraction of the work required to be a CFO of almost any company, and being the CFO of Tesla is probably a 24/7/365 job.

100% correct. Being a board member literally means... showing up for a couple meetings a year. It's not that much of a time commitment. Just steering committee stuff.

We will see how many boards and other new functions he ends up joining. Too early to tell.

Looking at the financials at FEYE over the past years, this hobby needs serious attention: Revenue is dwarfed by operating losses for most years...not that promising for a software-focused company.
