Timing of Production

I had my model X confirmed on Feb 4th. Anyone know when I should be seeing a production date or a delivery date? When I ordered it originally it said late Feb. my specialist early on said early March to mid March. The website still says going to production but no date. I sent a couple emails to my specialist but he has not returned a response for a couple of weeks.

If you haven’t heard anything from your advisor it’s because they have nothing new. They are not supposed give the “birth date” of the vehicle. A early to mid March delivery likely started production either last week or this coming week.

Once they get a clearer idea of the time the car will arrive for delivery, they will give you a call.

Don’t worry!

So I was at the mall just now. Decided to swing by the Tesla store to see if they had any info. The gentleman asked for my email and sales guy. Came back out in 5 min. Said the car was done being built 2/25. Shipping this coming week. Expect two weeks to delivery. Just wish that I had that info from my actual specialist. To be honest they have been very poor on communucation on several fronts. Truly hope this isn’t a sign of relationship moving forward. I’ve purchased several custom cars over the years and this has far has been the least amount of communication. Not sure if it’s just my experience. Thanks all!

Tesla seems poor on communications because so many things can effect a deliver that they rarely want to give the customer false hopes until they have firm and reliable delivery dates.

They hate chit chat where customers want to get constant updates and information. The simply do not have the time to do it.

When things are firm, and not just hopeful, they will get in touch with you to arrange delivery. Usually not until the vehicle comes off the truck at the delivery center and gets a good going over to make sure that the car is fully ready for delivery.

As an example, your post said that your car was done being built on Feb 25th, but you are posting on Feb 24th. How could the gentleman know for certain that it will be acceptable for shipment before even getting to final assembly and inspection. If a single part is not in stock, your final could certainly be delayed.

Totally get that. Then just commicnate that. Why learn from a forum? With that said the local mall store had more info. They confirmed that production is complete tomorrow. As string they are estimating delivery in a couple of weeks. All stuff that would be nice if the specialist could communicate. Or tell me the same thing at the mall. Let’s be consistent in all communication. Anyway, this is only one piece of the lack of commcination. I’ve requested various forms from them that are needed in order to make payment. They told me early on they would have them out. Now three weeks in dead silence on texts, phone calls and emails. Just frustrated with the lack of commicnation. Just reply that you’re working on it and provide a timeline. Again, even at some of the lower levels of cars I have purchased I have felt more cared for. I just expect communication. It’s not even about the fact that it’s a 6 figure vehicle. It’s about proper professionalism in retail.

I got that last Tuesday and the sales guy said car is schedule for Wednesday of this week. What a pain in the ass, typical tesla
Just tell them you can't make it until a day that works for you. Our preliminary date is the 13th but we won't be available until the 15th or 16th. If they want to cancel and build us another car since we can't be there the 13th or 14th, then so be it. I bet they can wait until the end of the week.

BTW, we stopped by the lot today and saw a couple of new cars (S sand X) and they both had the 100D badges instead of Long Range or whatever.
