Tint and side/rear view mirror visibility at night

Those of you who have tinted your windows, have you noticed any decrease in mirror visibility at night (on account of tint + auto dimming mirrors) ?

I know this has been commented on a few times in various threads, but it's spread out and difficult to find.

I had my side and rear tinted at 35% and there is a slight decrease in visibility but nothing major. This past weekend I drove up through the NC mountains at night and had no issues.

I have 3M Crystalline 20 on rear side windows and rear window. Front side doors 70 almost clear tint. This 70 is amazing heat rejection but at the same time it’s easy to see side minors still.

The rear huge back window is a bit of a challenge at night especially backing up but thanks to back up camera it’s easy.

I was talking to some installers and was being suggested 35% but wasn't sure about visibility at night. I've never had a car with auto dimming mirrors before so it was never a concern / I have had no experience with tint + dimming.

as with anything ... you'll just need to get used to it. it does darken and definitely would be nice to be able to turn off the auto dimming but I wouldn't let that stop you from getting the tint you want.

I have XPEL PRIME XR PLUS nano-ceramic 35% rear window tint have no viability issues at night...

I have 35% Suntek CIR on all windows including rear window and have no issues seeing out at night.

Well, naturally, you'll see less at night through a tinted window.

That said, the mirrors will dim less because less light from the headlights behind you will reach the photo sensor.

I assumed it was an on/off thing, did not occur to wonder if it was variable dimming.

It's more difficult with me with 50% crystalline. It can also be my aging eyes.
