Tint

Just the got the MYP tinted and it seems extremely light. The front was supposed to be 15% and the rear at 50% due to the factory tint. I have tinted numerous vehicles in the past, albeit never with a white interior. The shop attributed it to this and that I didn’t tint my windshield. They did offer for me to bring it back and they’ll test the tint, but frustrated nonetheless.

Anyone else experience this with the white interior?

I had my front windows done at 30, and the front windshield at 70, both ceramic. You can see straight through day or night, some pictures give the illusion its darker than it is. My guy stated, and with photographs of other MYs & M3s he'd done, that even 20 all around its not what you'd "expect." He did also mention each brand have varying VLT ratings, stated vs. actual. I wanted darker, but it came out tasteful.

With that being said, it does appear lighter in the pics. But the shop is right in that you need to tint the front window, its huge and lets in a lot of light. Whats the goal?

With my vehicles in the past, 20% all around always was a good median for privacy vs. vision at night. I went with the full ceramic this go around since we have a baby on the way, but I was hoping a VLT of 16% would provide much more privacy than this. I agree it’s very difficult to represent in photos, but standing next to the car, you can look straight in and see everything. The performance of the heat blocking is superb, though.

I’ve never been a fan of tinting the windshield and out of 10+ vehicles in the past, I’ve never had any issue with the darker 20% here in Florida. However, I do know people who’ve tinted their front windshields down here and have had numerous issues with being pulled over.

I agree, that looks pretty light for 15%. My husband went 30% all around on his M3 with white interior and it looks similar, if not a little darker than yours.
