Tints

The delivery is edging closer after a 4 month delay.....I’ve been looking at tints for some time but can’t decide on the %.

Has anyone had the rear windows tinted 18% and the roof 35%?

The pictures I’ve seen with 18% for both looks good but I’m concerned it will make it too dark inside and take away the novelty of having a glass roof.

Anyone got any pics of theirs they’ve had done? I’ll be using PP protect

Thanks

This is mine with 20% rear sides only, rear & roof are original.

It might just be me, but I rarely think to look up... so don't really see the roof.

Also, the few times I have, it seems quite heavily tinted already. Not sure it needs to be any more. That being said, I've not been out in full blazing midsummer sun. My view may change next summer.

I had ours done by PP Protect in Derbyshire - they have done over 100 Tesla's including loads of model 3's, so they are specialists at doing the Roof/Back glass

Went with 18% on rear windows and all of the roof/back glass
50% up front.

Looks fantastic, particularly set against the white paint and black wheels.

The benefit of tinting the roof glass was greatly felt in the hotter months of August, and considering the car was in Portugal for nearly all of August.

However, we are considering removing the roof glass tint, because it is TOO DARK to see out of the rear view mirror in the dark. I think we might go with a lighter tint now on the roof, since it is already partially tinted from factory.

Interesting you are considering removing the tint. Have you got any pics of the inside?

I’m thinking the 35% should be fine with the factory fitted tint

Hi - did they do the whole of the roof / back glass or just the part that wasn't 'factory tinted' already?

I'm getting my M3P when it gets delivered in 10 days done with 20% on the rear windows and back glass window but the company I'm using are suggesting they only need to tint the half that has not been done by the factory? What would be your advice?
