Tire Blew Out on PLAID - 1.5 month wait on tires ?!

This tire is supposedly a “tesla only tire”.

Not a Tesla only tire. The only special part of it is that the ones Tesla uses have a sound dampening insert. You can get these on TireRack or whoever stocks them and use it on whatever vehicle fits them...

I've had to replace 2 now due to punctures too close to the sidewall to repair. I'm seriously considering buying one and keeping it in the garage as an insurance/backup plan...

Same situation. They referred me to a local tire chainstore, but they can't get the rears for the plaid until MAYBE mid November.

After reading all these threads and long lead times from tire rack and other sites, I just bought a spare tire off eBay as a safety back up. Hope shops end up having more in stock in the near future.

Legit not a bad idea. Have def considered it. Hoarding these tires among us MS owners is going to be the new run on pandemic TP lol.
