Tire pressure warning system repair

For a while now, my Roadster tells me that I have a fault in the tire pressure warning system. I've assumed this is just the little batteries giving out and have ignored this fault since I regularly check the tire pressure anyway. Recently, I've seen that there are many after market producers of the wheel transmitters and I assume that if I can figure out the right frequency, I could buy a set and take them to my local tire shop.

But, I wonder - does anyone make a little transmitter that screws on to the stem on the outside of the tire? That would sure make it easy to get rid of the fault report.

Hi @Bressler ,

Sorry for the delay of response...
You can easily replace the TPMS sensors in your car.
I like a part available from Amazon.
It is alligator 590883. It is 433 MHz. It is $29 ea as of Feb 23, 2023.
Program the sensors - Any tire shop can do this.
The problem is programming the sensors into the cars ECU and antennas...
To do this you have 3 choices.
1 A Tesla Service Center that still has the tool can update your car in less than 10 minutes...
A mobile technician with the tool can also quickly program the car.
2 If you have the OVMS3 for monitoring your car - You can purchase the
"K-line" option and program the car yourself - You would need to know the IDs
of the 4 sensors and which wheels they are on...
3 I have found a tool which will program your car.
I can ship it to you, you do your update and return it to me.

Good luck - At least now you know what your choices are,

Shawn
