Most tire shops can handle it. Just bring lift pucks.

It doesn't, honestly, if they are careful and know to lift from the frame, not the battery. And that lifting from the battery will result in them owing you a new $20k battery. The lift pads (on the S and X, anyway) are obvious.

I do my own spring/fall tire changeovers. I'm just really careful about where I put the jack. I've also put it up on a couple of different 2-post lifts several times. I'm just careful about positioning the lift arms. I've never used pucks.

Why does it need lift pucks?

It helps them not make mistakes and destroy the car, it provides a dead-simple way to know exactly where to jack up the car.
