Tire Size

Hi,

I have a question regarding the tires and their sizes.

Let's take as example the 20" induction wheels. The tires for this wheels are 255/40-20. As for aesthetics and comfort I prefer tires with generous tire sidewall. So I would like to know if it's possible to put a 255/45-20 tires or even 255/50-20 tires on those 20" wheels.

Same thing with 21" Überturbine Wheels. They have 255/35-21 tires. Is it possible to put at least 255/40-21 tires or even better 255/45-21 tires?

I don't really understand how can people possibly like the looks of 255/35-21 tires, they look even thinner on a crossover, without mentioning how heavy the car is.

Did you ever get answer? I run 245/45/20 on my LRY and it’s great with max summer. With all season it may feel bouncy or floaty. But I’m thinking to try 255/45/20 next. With 50 profile you may feel out of touch.

That's a larger diameter though, so your speedometer and all other calculations will be underestimating your true speed & distance.
