  1. Hi everyone! Some of you may know us, we are TLC Auto Detail based in Chantilly, Virginia. We have been providing high quality detailing and paint protection services to the Northern, Virginia and Washington DC area for years. We specialize in full paint corrections, Modesta Glass Coatings, and fully custom paint protection film wraps. We have been lucky enough to work on hundreds of Teslas over the past few years, and felt it was time to have a presence on the biggest online community of Tesla owners. We are here to answer any questions or give feedback on anything related to detailing, correcting, or protecting your vehicle. We will also use this thread to show off some of the latest work that comes through our shop. We will try to keep it mostly Tesla related, but sometimes we get some fun projects that are too cool not to share.

Thank you for taking the time to check out our thread, and please let us know if you have any questions that we can help with!

Tesla Model X Full Car Clear Guard Nano Paint Protection Film Wrap

This vehicle came to us looking for the best possible protection from rock chips, swirls, and scratches. We came to the conclusion that a full body wrap with Clear Guard Nano Paint Protection Film would be the best protection for this vehicle. Clear Guard Nano is over 8 mils thicker which makes it one of the thickest and best protecting films on the market. It also has the least amount of texture and most gloss of any film currently available. Finally, it also has a hydrophobic layer built into the self healing top coat that not only gives the film extra protection from etchings, but also sheets off dirt and water to ease maintenance.

As with all of our paint protection film installs this one was 100% custom cut, no ill fitting pre-cut kits here. Every emblems and piece of trim was removed to allow full sheets of film to be laid and every edge was wrapped. Providing a fully seamless install not only looks better, but it prevents dirt from building up in exposed edges which can eventually lead to the film lifting.

Every edge fully wrapped and tucked under all trim.

The wheels were also removed and polished in preparation for Modesta BC-06. This sprayed on glass coating will protect the wheels from corrosive brake dust and make them a breeze to keep clean.

The gloss from Clear Guard Nano is absolutely amazing. This gorgeous white Model X will now look great and be extremely easy to maintain for years to come.

How long does something like you did to this X take?

Can you give us a ball park price?

I'm in northern Delaware, but I haven't really found many shops with Tesla experience nearby to do this.

  7. Hi everyone. We have been super busy as of late, so I apologize for not keeping up to date on this thread! I wanted to post a few photos from some vehicles we worked on recently.

First we have a grey AP2 Equipped Model S. This vehicle was booked for a New Car Prep Detail, a SunTek PPF-C Full Front End Wrap, and Modesta BC-08 Neo Silica Glass Coating. As with all of our installs the film was hand cut for the vehicle, and all edges were fully wrapped and tucked giving a seamless installation that looks amazing and will last!

As that vehicle left we had a gorgeous metallic red Model S drop off for a similar service. This vehicle received a full paint correction to remove some left over sanding marks from the factory and some wash induced swirls. After the paint was perfected we applied a hand cut full front end paint protection film wrap with all of the edges wrapped and tucked. Finally we applied Modesta BC-04 Nano Titanium Glass Coating to the film and paint as well as Modesta BC-06 High Temperature Wheel Coating to the brake calipers, inner wheel barrels, and wheel faces.

Thanks for taking a moment to look at some of our work. We absolutely love working on these amazing vehicles, so if you have any questions about our services please don't hesitate to contact us. Thanks!

Oh, and a little teaser, we have 4 Teslas in the shop right now, three Model S cars and one Model X. Two are getting full vehicle wraps and two are getting full front ends and Modesta coatings. Stay tuned for more pictures!

  11. Thanks JC!!
Hi Chase, we quote our services based on what the client is looking for and what works best for their specific situation. There are so many factors that can affect the price that we need to go over it with each individual client. If you are interested in having a service performed at our shop please feel free to shoot me a message and we can discuss the options. Thanks!
