After much preparation, we're going to be moving servers in the morning.
Don't forget to backup everything first!
I'll be sure to bring my box of floppies.
The moderator party will be held in Room 237 immediately after server shutdown.
Move to AWS. Just sayin'
Man, that felt like the longest hour ever for the maintenance plan. Glad to see it's complete!
Come on... it was less than an hour and we migrated servers.
Nicely done. And Nigel, party time over.
Ever since the server move after I read a post & then go back to New Posts, threads stay with the the blue icon indicating unread posts when they used to switch to the white no unread posts, I logged out & then logged back in on Safari hoping that might help & acting the same on Chrome & my iDevices, I looked thru the setting but can't find what needs to be changed, any help?

I have a problem since the maintenance action. I now have to log on every time (which I did not before). The remember me 'button' does not seem to work. I get an illegal url message.
I'm not seeing either of those issues on my systems, but a little bit of weirdness isn't unexpected.
I'd suggest clearing your cache.
I think it's doing the same thing to me. It won't remember that I am logged in. Every time I close my browser window and reopen it I have to log into the site again. As soon as I log in I get a page with a message in the middle that says "Invalid Redirect URL (http://teslamotorsclub.com/)"
I have deleted my cache, cookies and history; no change.
Seeing the same behavior on both Chrome Version 37.0.2062.103 m and Internet Explorer Version 11.0.9600.17239, both on Windows 8.1.
Well THAT's weird. After I submitted the above post, I closed my IE window and reopened it, and it looked like I wasn't logged in (had the login box at the top right corner). Then without logging in I came back to this thread, and presto I was logged in. Still using IE at the moment.
Same thing in Chrome. As soon as I open the window and come back to the site, it LOOKS like I'm not logged in, but when I click over to any other page in the site, it shows me logged in. So, a bit weird but not really a problem per se.
hmm... be sure you're logging into http://www.teslamotorsclub.com.
When you just type teslamotorsclub.com you're supposed to be automatically redirected to http://www.teslamotorsclub.com. That bit doesn't seem to have survived the move.
So manually make sure you have the www there until I have a chance to track down the issue.
You're right, that's it. If I open a new browser window and type "http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/" into the address bar instead of just teslamotorsclub.com it's fine.
edit: I wish it wouldn't automatically turn the URL into a link with the site name but that's really a corner case since it only matters when we're discussing technical issues about the forum behavior.
Thanks TMC! Right after the maintenance downtime I took a drive in my standard 85 Model S, and noticed the screen now says P120+, with a 120kWh battery, 450 rated range miles, and AWD! But even more, I now have parking sensors!
Whatever you did, thank you!
I am a happy camper. This is the best weekend ever.
I'm seeing something similar. Before today's changes, when I read a thread and caught up to the end, then went back to the list (either the "What's new" page or my "Settings" page showing my subscribed unread threads), the list would be updated to show that I had read the thread. Now it still shows as "new" - still in bold in the "What's new" page, and still there on the "Settings" page. This is in Safari on Mac (latest versions).
i know, right? I went out to my garage and found my Signature Model X (P135+++) - it's spectacular!
Dibs on a test drive.
Thanks Doug and Bonnie
Just curious why you went to an official domain name that includes the http://www.?
For all my sites, the official name does not have the www, and the www name is auto redirected to the shorter name.
I just think it's more modern, shorter, and cleaner, but maybe I'm missing something...
It's a message board, for cryin' out loud... Its software doesn't even have a feature to ignore/hide threads, and you're lookin' for DNS know-how
