I just got to the Silver Legacy Resort Casino and I'm trying to sort out my afternoon. Any other TMC'ers here today? Haven't eaten anything really except airplane cookies. Then have to make our way to the Atlantis.
There are several good restaurants along your way to Atlantis. Yelp is in general a accurate reference for this area.
Just arrived at my place in Squaw Valley... weather is unusually warm Looking forward to the big day tomorrow with TMC and GF grand opening!
Great to be here at TMC Connect 2016 with the movers and shakers that made it happen - Doug and Danny!!
Wow, just got yell at by a hot head in a red S in convention center parking lot with racially charged slur. Hopefully not a member here. While it is human nature to insist one is always right, that does not make it right to throw around stereotypical accusations...
Did anyone else get the lovely Atlantis parting gift of a water bottle? Was this a TMC related thing, or am I special in some way? Or did everyone get one?
Not sure what you mean. Photo? They did seem to leave a gold colored beverage bottle with large side dimples wrapped in a lot of plastic perhaps suitable for water or coffee. Is that what you mean? I started with one but now have two in the room near my TV.
On our way from TMC Connect to Fremont factory tour, we just had a great visit with @Merrill at Ravenswood Winery in Sonoma... thanks Merrill for the awesome personal tour!!
So long and thanks for all the fun. Another great event come and gone. Time to go back to the real world where they roll their eyes if Tesla is mentioned just one more time... Thanks to @danny and @doug for doing all the hard work. Thanks to every one else for making it such a nice event. --Woof!
I did some reading on out her after her Connect talk and her background is even more interesting than she had time to outline. I've downloaded the movie "The Singularity is Near", based on Ray Kurtweil's book, that she is listed as executive producer of on her Wikipedia page. Plan to view it soon. Here is the link for those interested: The Singularity Is Near, The Movie - Homepage
Yes, Martene Rothblatt is definitely an amazing person and as you said she only touched on her accomplishments. I spoke with her, her wife and daughter at one of the breaks at the conference. She is so unassuming you would never know she was the highest paid women CEO's in the country. We live near her and she said if we ever need a charge just stop by her house. I thought it was great that her homes and business are not only energy Net Zero but she actually generates more power than she uses to help out the surrounding communities. We are in the process of putting in 20kW solar solution system and are using the same company she did for the installation. We had hoped to also have a Powerwall put in at the same time but Tesla told me they don't have any installers certified to do installations in Florida yet. We are using the same inverters they use so hopefully it will be compatible once they start doing Florida installations.
Just wanted to thank the organizers (Doug and Danny) and helpers (Klaus, Annegret and their daughter Miriam) for a great connect. Great food (best of the 4 years in terms of healthy, tasty, and accommodating to all diets) Good organization Great speakers Great fun
Thanks so much to everyone who helped organize this wonderful conference! So many great moments; the members; the speakers; the factory; the cars; the party at Bonnie's...it's overwhelming. Now I'm back to the desert and no Teslas! : ( The only thing that will get me through my wait for my 3 is stalking the Albuquerque SC (saw a P90D yesterday!), fond memories of this year's conference, and dreams of a conference next year! (Yes please!) Thank you all again!
