Thanks!

Dear Friend,
With Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Accord, climate action in the U.S. has fallen completely to the states. But there’s hope: Massachusetts can lead the country by putting a price on carbon. No state policy is as effective at reducing greenhouse gases that cause catastrophic global warming.
The Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, and Energy has set a public hearing on state level carbon pricing proposals, including mine, S.1821.
Hearing on bills to put a price on carbon in MA
Tuesday, June 20th at 1 p.m.
State House, Gardner Auditorium
Tomorrow, Beacon Hill decision-makers will be keeping an eye on the hearing. In part, they’ll be gauging the level of grassroots support for carbon pricing. That’s where you come in.
Let’s turn out in force. Forward this email to friends and neighbors. Post about the hearing on social media. Write a letter in support of carbon pricing to your local paper. Make sure you’re at the hearing. Heck, bring a sign.
Do you want to show the rest of the world -- and the president -- that Massachusetts stands ready to lead on climate action? Then come to the State House tomorrow and make the case.
If you are interested in submitting testimony, or if you have any other questions, please feel free to get in touch.
Best wishes,
Hannah Walford
