Hey all,

Anyone make a trip from Toronto to Casino Rama? Just wondering if I need to plan to charge in Orillia or I should be ok. I have a P85+.

Thoughts for people travelling long distances? From google maps, one way trip is 138 km.

Thanks.

You should be fine...you should use a little less range on the way back as the elevation decreases...the Best Western in Orillia has a CS90 (and a nice restaurant) if you feel you need to charge...

Edit: Sorry, I mis-read your post...thought you were just going Toronto to Orillia...don't know about Rama as I've never been there...

I did it a month ago and stayed overnight. I went up hwy 12 instead of 400 and had 30 kilometers left. Started and finished in Scarborough.

In summary...made it there and back (I live in Markham)....had about 110 km to spare. Drove conservative there - roughly 110 km and when I came back...went about 115 -120 km.

Warmer weather does make a significant difference.

I think we need a Supercharger at Webers.

Wait.. you're from San Diego and know about Weber's???

That would be a popular stop location, and they have a huge parking lots on both sides of the highway, but there is only a footbridge over the roadway and would need two sets to serve both northbound and southbound traffic.

Personally, I think Gravenhurst would be ideal. A bit farther north and would support traffic going up Hwy 11 towards North Bay and traffic going up 169 towards Bala and points north. Toronto to Gravenhurst should be easy, and with a Supercharger going in in Toronto, it would be easy from points east or west of Toronto too.

Hmm. You got me there. And the hydro goes out in that area not infrequently, too. And Webers certainly doesn't need the extra business, and is closed in the winter anyway. Gravenhurst is a pretty good idea.

(Yeah, it's a bit of a commute from San Diego.)
