#1: Web browser... Haven't seen one on Model 3 yet even though S & X have it.
#2: Play videos from flash memory (when the car is in park only).
#3: Record Dash-cam videos. There are already cameras, so why not have it a feature so people don't have to buy a separate device to stick on the windshield.

Other ideas ?

A simple nit-picky request: round off the upper portion of the UI to match the lower portion. This could be easily done with a software update.

Open source the GUI/layout (think WinAmp). Imagine the quantity and options you could choose from.... skins that the technology savy people among the 500k reservation holders and then even more the next year..... We could get some seriously cool themes/skins! Having such a high volume vehicle has some serious advantages like this. Tesla could have competitions for highest rated skin....

#1 and #3 are coming coming soon according to EM.

- I would like to adjust the power seats from the screen. It is nice for Uber/Lyft drivers when they have someone that wants to sit in the back and you want the passenger seat forward.

- When door is attempted to be opened without the key, a notification that "Alarm activated, driver notified, video recording" pops on the screen.

- Mobile food ordering or if using a drive thru mobile payments.

Hmm, with popularity of Model 3, and number of supercharging locations near restaurants, maybe we could see some "model 3 optimized" drive-throughs where you pre-order your food on the screen, and they time it to be ready for pick up just before you get to the supercharger. Maybe even "delivery to supercharger" as an option?

So basically a Sonic that's adapted for supercharging. I could see that working well.

I used McDonalds mobile app with curbside pickup for the first time last week and it worked great. It seems like they could integrate some API into the system or maybe that is a Google Maps thing.

I wouldn't ever encourage or do this. Regardless of OpenSource or not, WinAmp had some serious security flaws with its skins :

WinAmp flayed by skins attack

And I wouldn't be comfortable sacrificing security of the car with all its software gubbins for the sake of a 'nice metallic look' on my screen. Just sayin'.

Don't you think you can skin something AND have security?

I'd like to see the following tied to driver profile:
1. music preference
2. HVAC settings including Vent position
3. Drivers regen, creep, steering mode.

Not necessarily "Touch Screen Features" but would like to turn on/set HVAC and check charge level via my Google Home (when vehicle is at home)

Opening up a dedicate app to control things, is so last year:)

Not really no. Witness the *amount* of security flaws in WinAmp. And other skinnable things... the flaws found in browsers all the time, along with your regular windows / linux / mailer / OS flaws. If it's just a PC? Whatever.. you can suffer the loss of files, your browser being hijack'd and so on. Not going to kill you (might cause you some major $ damage, or embarassment or whatever). But in a car? No... So not worth the risk.

You might go on by saying how this console thing is a self-contained system, goes through numerous security checks et al. And then I'll point you at cash machines displaying 'blue screen' errors, and flight departure boards displaying wonky data, and fridge controls displaying porn sites in Home Depot stores :p

I understand that Tesla's have at least gone in the right direction with firewalling off the console stuff from the drivetrain stuff (unlike say. GMC's, toyota's and other car manufacturers who have bolted them on). But introducing a vector of attack for such a simple thing as a display change? That's just begging for trouble.

Those memory settings you mentioned, plus a little more in the future ( I know I am asking for the moon and the stars), are the only reasons I will go with a PUP.

Not a center display/MCU request, but it really chaps my scrote that you can't turn on the seat heaters from the mobile app. and they need to make it so you can configure the iOS widget with more functionality and configurability so you can just swipe to it from the lock screen to do your most important (to you) functions.

Maybe you could ask Google home to ask Alexa as she seems to have the skills.
