contemplating buying polarized sunglasses...

polarized lenses can cause distortions in
some displays/LCD’s or in aircraft windows.

has anyone had issues w/touchscreen in 3
while wearing polarized sunglasses?
or for that matter distortion in windshield?

No issue with my polarized Costa’s with my model S. When I had my Audi years ago the screens were all black with my polarized lens on at that time. I just got my Costa’s and what weird is that they are mirrored and polarized glass but my IPhone facial recognition works even when I am wearing them. With my non polarized or mirrored RayBan’s facial recognition doesn’t work and I need to constantly take them off to unlock my phone....never while driving of course.

that’s weird iphone facial failing w/raybans?

Like everyone, no issues with RB polarized/chromance sunglasses and tesla screen or iphone faceID, but if you install the clear screen protector 9h tempered glass, its rainbow city. I read the matte glass protector don’t have this issue?

I have the AO 5H clear screen protector,
and guessing from the varied answers here
it'll be best to park near the sunglass shop
and ask for them to bring a few pairs to car!

I have read that the iphone/polarized glasses
have been solved by either disabling the
'required attention' setting for facial ID, and/or
rescanning facial ID with polarized glasses on?

Polarizing is horizontal lines in the material. The diamond effects you'll see in some car windows is from the polarized plastic used in glass manufacture creating some moire effect. For glare reduction, it's all used horizontally in all applications.
For the best deal in polarized sunglasses, hit up the sporting goods section of the Walmart and grab a few pair of $4 fishing glasses. When you sit on them, step on them, or forget them, it doesn't matter like it does with $300 Ray-Bans.

just an FYI, I tested rayban B-15 polarized,
and G-15 polarized (no mirror finish) on model 3
w/AO 5H clear screen protector, no issues and
surprisingly enough didn't interfere with iphone X
facial recognition? YMMY
