Update on some snowy conditions in Boulder, CO in the P85D. Even on the stock 19" all seasons the car did reasonably well in the fresh snow conditions with a little ice underneath. Hope to get the Hakka R2's on soon to give them a try.

Here is what the car looked like coming out of the movies last night. Going in, there was only trace snow.

The parking assist and lane assist modes gave up after even more snow over dinner; sorry no picture. At least the parking assist stopped making noise after I started driving. The lane assist would not go back to operational until after the windshield was clear and the car was restarted. It was interesting that the park assist message asked me to contact service when the only problem was snow over the sensors. After a melt off in the garage, everything was happy this morning.

With lots of battery left and only a short distance to drive home, I splurged burning lot of electrons, and turned the climate control on every 30 minutes during dinner to come back to a nice warm car with most of the windows melted off.

Chicago area residents who were waiting for their P85D to unload from train on Dec 24, know if this occurred?

Apparently my vehicle is on route to Minneapolis via Chicago. Will be trucked to Minneapolis after unloading from train, but haven't heard if any Model S cars showed up on Wednesday.

Train arrived. The cars are being unloaded and then put onto car haulers headed for the SC's but it may be hard to tell the exact order in which a particular vehicle gets transferred. I picked mine up Wednesday evening. Everything was perfect. There was a last minute important firmware update which I was happy to wait for. I'd like to mention something about the delivery specialists. They all have numerous customers expecting deliveries around the holidays which are a stressful time for many of us. They are not expediters and do not have much control other than the final pickup scheduling.
I've found them to be first rate, like all the other Tesla employees I've met. In this case it's the process that caused most difficulties, not the workers.

My delivery just got pushed back. I have a short vacation booked Dec. 29-Jan 2 so my original date of Dec 28/29 will now be on or after January 3rd. Bummer but that's okay - good things are worth waiting for I suppose!

Oh, that's bad news for me. I may be in the same situation then. Has your status changed, or does it still say "in production?" Mine is still stuck

Still says "in production"... :( Welcome to the "mini black hole"!

My DS tells me that the Dashboard status does not necessarily reflect reality. He is convinced that my car is out of production and waiting for a truck. I hope he is right. He said the factory sends updates to HQ who update the Dashboards. It is chaos at the moment and it is not unusual for the online status to fall behind when they are in the thick of it. He does know that I have not been pulled to the side for rework, because he would see a notification about that.

I took my car, delivered on Wednesday, to be opticoated this morning. That was the first time I had it on the highway. I discovered a problem with wind noise coming into the cabin. I started a thread about it, in case others experience something similar. The thread is here: Wind noise problem in new P85D

just called my DS, he pinged my car and it's currently in Phoenix, Arizona. So probably not going to get it on December 28th. I am having issue with my insurance company anyway. I think I will be delayed by the insurance company and not Tesla at this point.

My loaded P85d delivered on Monday Dec 22. I ordered on Oct 11. So far, I love this car. I've owned a lot of fast cars in the past, including a Porsche Cayenne Turbo sitting in the garage right now, but this car is completely different. It's hard to drive at or better than the "rated range". I think so of that is my driving style, especially with this new car. I do worry about any trips in the over 200 mile category though. I suppose it's hard to trust until you do it.

Did have NG front, though not rear seats.
Hi Mike, I've pounded your stuff into the spreadsheet and then resorted it -- so you're way up in Row 53 'cause you're already delivered. Let me know if anything needs to change.

Great run down, MikeBur. Would you mind posting some pics? I've ordered the same colors and seeing some pics of your car might help me get through the interminable wait for the 'D' to make it Downunder.

Another one of the original Black Hole cars has emerged. I took delivery of 64272 today in Houston, TX. The drive back to New Orleans was not as pleasant as I had hoped due to the greatly reduced battery range compared to the P85+ I drove over there. I had to drive like my grandma on the leg from Lake Charles to home - full range charge in Lake Charles netted me 249 Rated Miles and I arrived home with 13 miles remaining on a 195 mile trip. I drove 60 MPH most of the way (at least 3/4 of the way) in flat South Louisiana in 62 degree weather. If I had driven the P85+ like that I would have *gained* miles on the trip (i.e., used less rated miles than actual miles).

The first thing I noticed is Tesla has done a good job improving fit, finish and overall "tightness" from VIN 13226 to VIN 64272. The car is solid and feels like it is carved out of a solid piece of aluminum. I have the standard Nappa Seats in both front and rear (Tesla owes me Next Generation Seats). Seeing as to how I had to baby it to get it home I will test acceleration and performance this weekend.

Here she is at the Lake Charles refueling station:

According to webpage, mine finished production on Xmas Eve and today, DC called me to schedule a delivery. I'm thinking trucking happened in the wee hours of the 26th with the car arriving in LA shortly after noon. Lets hope that the factory techs weren't in too big of a hurry to go home that day .

Down to the wire.
My car went into production on 12/20 and my dashboard says it is still there. However, my DS emailed me scheduling my pickup for 12/31 at the Fremont factory.
Factory tour too.

HAPPY new year!

I took delivery today in Las Vegas today! I put 3 timid miles on it driving to get it wrapped immediately.

The new turn signal stalks felt strange, they are slightly smaller in addition to being moved. The brakes felt touchy, my P85+ has a very small bit of travel before they engage, these bite immediately. I can't wait to put some real miles on it.
