Trade in and Payment

I know I’ve seen a post on this before, but I was unable to find it.

I have a VIN, 50xxx, but no specific pickup date as of yet. I am trading in a car and obviously must pay off the rest. Since they may adjust the amount for my trade based on inspection, can I bring a personal check for the rest? Clearly, a cashiers check won’t work in this case.

Thanks for any help provided.

If they’ve given you a trade-in quote, and it hasn’t expired by the time you pick up your new MY, then that’s what will be on your paperwork. They likely won’t inspect the trade-in at that time, except maybe a quick visual to make sure it matches what they gave you the quote on and doesn’t have undisclosed substantial damage. As long as you’ve been honest about your car’s condition, should be no worries.
