We’ve got a 2018 X 100D with the towing package. I’m working on getting ready to tow a small Airstream trailer, have the braking controller, but I’m trying to find the right shank and ball to go into the receiver (2” type). I ordered one I thought would fit the bill, it was supposed to have a 3/4” rise, and seemed like it probably was about 8” from the pin holes to the ball hole (based on the overall length stated.) However, it just arrived and the lift is more like 7/8” or an inch, and the distance between pin and ball hole centers is 8.5 inches. Both of these are more than stated in the Model X manual. Here is the drawing from the manual, and a photo of what mine looks like (see the dimensions I stated above). Is mine actually usable even though out of range? What model and manufacturer shank are other X owners using? (Mine is Connor 1623210)

You can stop at a trailer supply store or U-Haul rental place. They stock lots of different sized.

For what it’s worth, the U-Haul one is better for length, 7.5 inch between hole centers, but still 1 inch rise. That is U-Haul model TS1.

The specs Tesla gives is for a 5000 pound trailer. If your trailer is lighter and well balanced, that hitch is fine.
Thank you. I’m hoping to avoid the problems with the Bosal receiver deforming and getting loose in the bayonet connection in the X, that others have reported.
