Still down as of 02/10. This seems ridiculous that it takes this long to be repaired...!
Inspection and investigation to determine the root cause and extent of the damage (may include the wiring or other hardware on site besides just the part that was obviously damaged), finger pointing and blame game, insurance claim and any dispute resolution/mediation, ordering new parts, applying for a new building permit to cover the repair work, fitting the repair into the job scheduling for the contractors, etc. There's lots of things that could each individually take multiple months to resolve before any actual work gets done, not that any of them are guaranteed to happen or guaranteed to take so much time if they did. Regardless, this isn't like replacing a burned out light bulb from the stock you keep on hand in your garage.
