I'm with you, the 500 mile range is what entices me the most. I was thinking of changing my order to dual motor so I wouldn't have to wait as long, so this news is great for me.

It makes sense, we single motor folks pay the least and have the fewest reserves. Just sad it's at the end of 2022. I can't afford to go up to the dual motor, nor do I really need that much of a truck...so fingers crossed that production will go quickly and they start sooner in 2022 than expected!

This was the same for me. I didn't need the 0-60 of the tri-motor but I really liked the range it came with.

Toasting some souped up "compensating for something" ICE truck will make that 0-60 very worthwhile.

So when I first hear that the tri-motor was going to take so long to arrive I was puzzled. There is some rumor that the tri-motor drivetrain is the same as what will eventually be in the next gen model S which launches in late 2020. I think this new timeline makes some sense given they are the same drivetrain. Roughly 1 year to increase capacity of large battery pack and new 2 motor rear unit.

My warranty runs out in 2022. Then I'm on my own for fixes. It will be my daily driver . I dont need all that , I've got war wagon.

Great news! I ordered the tri-motor and would be happy to get it sooner.

I am also looking forward to the tri-motor shipping sooner. 500 mile range will be great for road trips. Let's see when my wife's model Y ships.

I’m waiting for battery/powertrain day to see if I should change my order. Granted the tri-motor comes with 500+, is that the paid? Duel-Motor may be the best option.
