Triangle area (NC) detailers & aftermarket audio

Hi,

As I'm awaiting the arrival of my S 85D some time next month I'm considering having some sort of paint protection installed (heard of cquartz and Gtechniq light). Does anyone here have experience with reliable people who can do this?

Also, I will definitely get some sort of aftermarket audio installed - any ideas on where?

Thank you!

Hey neighbor. :) I'm just over in Apex and have my S60D arriving next month as well. I did some research online as well and have been chatting with Liquid Finish, a one-man detailing operation in the area:

Liquid Finish - Triangle Paint Correction & Paint Coating Specialist

I've not used his services before, but his reputation online seems quite good and he clearly cares about mastering his craft. I'm planning on using him to detail my Roadster prior to selling it, and also to install OptiCoat Pro on my Model S when it arrives.

I've also been chatting with him about local film installers since I want to have XPEL protection film installed on a few of the more forward panels on the car. His recommendation has been Tinted Image in Raleigh, since he feels they do the best work and don't rush their jobs like a few of the other local shops.

They even have a great video on their site of an installation job on a Model S:

Oh, and make sure to join the Triangle Tesla group. We have meetups a few times each year and it's a great group of Tesla owners.

Hey! Thanks a lot for the info!

I'm not comfortable spending an extra $2500 for clear bra. I think I'll just go with Opticoat/Cquartz/Gtechniq. I heard it costs around/slightly over $1,000 to install, does that sound about right?

I haven't even gotten that far in my discussion with him yet haha. We've just been discussing the detail job for the Roadster, and sort of tabled the Model S discussion until my delivery is more imminent.

Cool. I'll shoot him an email to find out. I'm sure he's done it before so he can give me a ballpark figure.

What's the color of your S? Mine's multi-coat red. Any idea if a particular brand of coat would be better for this color?
