Trouble voice texting with contacts

At some recent update the contact list no longer comes up when I say "Text xxx". Instead it just shows recent conversations, a list that resets each time you drive. This is useless. The big problem is that when I say "Text Adrienne", my wife, it always, always, always comes up as Adrian and doesn't recognize her. I then can't select her name from contacts because they don't come up. I've tried creating an alias on the phone so it would recognize it but then everything shows it wrong. She even is listed as a driver of course with her proper spelling but the stupid voice recognition doesn't see it.

Any ideas? Is there something I'm not seeing that could help?

No ideas?

The only Ideas I can think of are work arounds:

1. Make a new contact on your phone with jus the number you want to text, and call it "wife text" or something like that. Then, when you want to text your wife with voice commands say the full name of that contact.

Or

2. Ensure you are saying your wifes entire name (not just first name) and that the contact only has one phone number in it. Format is "Text First name, Last name". (This is what I do)

or

3. Use the phones texting feature (instead of the cars) by accessing the voice commands of the phone (either with hey google or hey siri or by using whatever physical button you use to access the phones voice commands). Dictate the voice message to the phone.

Like I said, those are work arounds to the issue of texting someone, but i have zero feedback on contact lists etc, I just figured out how to do what worked for me.

I just set up a new contact called "Wifey" and that works but now all her texts say that. I can still use her real name to start a conversation and it then goes back to Wifey. It also fixed another problem too, I can now see her location. I could neither see that nor call her directly from her contact. The whole thing is screwed up.
