like cnn, msnbc, npr are credible outlets?
if you believe that why don't come see this bridge I can let you have at a great price

Fox has spent the last two or three weeks talking about an old and debunked conspiracy theory where they claim Hillary Clinton had someone murdered/assassinated(?) to cover up her email server scandal.

Talk about fake news.

There's a reason why it's called the "Fox News effect".

Right, those damn McDonald workers make way too much money and are the downfall of society.

I'd also get rid of automation and gloves so we can put as many people down a coal mine as possible to dirty their hands. Then we'd have a just and equitable society for all.

When in doubt, blame a poor person for your struggles. That'll really show 'em! Stick it to the man!

do you realize that even if the whole accord was implemented and adhered to that the effect on the earth's climate would be negligible? the reports I;ve seem claim that average temps would decrease by .5 to less than 1 degree.
like I stated in my first comment I am not against the intent of the accord but I am against this accord.

This is an astonishingly embarrassing comment.

Good point: "he won" and it's "game over" for the planet.

As to your "gal" comment, you do know it's no longer the 50's? You need to get with the times. Even Fox News is making changes. Perhaps you can too and call a grown female a "woman"? It's not hard to do -- try it sometime. They are equal to males and we're not the Taliban or ISIS here when it comes to females right? You also wouldn't call Trump a "boy" would you? That wouldn't even cross your mind but calling a grown female a "gal" seems to be just second nature to you.

Not to mention calling the first and only black President's administration a "gang". Good lord.

Re: Nuclear: it’s the economics particularly in the face of very cheap/abundent natural gas and the difficulty in getting the plants built per plan (ask Southern Company/Toshiba about their new plant challenges).

However, I’d accept that trade-off vs. the Solar Farms/wind power that are killing birds: This Mojave Desert solar plant kills 6,000 birds a year. Here's why that won't change any time soon

Pretty sure mirrors aren't the only way to utilize the sun for energy. As for nuclear, screw it. Expensive to build and with the hassle of having to store radioactive waste and dispose of contaminated water used for cooling.

The nuclear plant south of Miami is having all sorts of issues with cooling canal contaminates and rising water temperatures. Even worse, contamination is literally leaking into Biscayne [Bay] National Park. And yet they want to build two more reactors at a cost of $20 Billion. Hard pass.

A lot of renewable energy could be created with that money, and it would be operational much sooner than any new nuclear plant. If current trends continue, by the time they would ever be built, renewable energy may be a better investment anyways, if it isn't already

FPL nuclear plant canals leaking into Biscayne Bay, study confirms
Turkey Point nuclear plant on way to expansion. But will it survive a changing industry?

Read your history. Many famous people in the world supported what Germany was doing in the 1930's. They even had the Olympic Games there. Germany had free vacations, subsidized childcare, free medical, youth camps, superhighways, anti-smoking laws, animal rights laws, reduction of state's rights, government employment programs, etc. All government documents required you fill in your race [and religion], so funding and programs could be racially focused. And free speech was heavily frowned upon.

I'm pretty sure that was Hillary's platform was it not?

People of conscious didn't think much of what Germany was doing. But many foreign intellectuals were behind their policies 100%. Even down to the anti-Semitism and eugenics. Britain, America, and France all had their share of National Socialist supporters. There is still a community of them in the US left over from the 1930's. https://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/20/...s-in-a-long-island-hamlet-are-you-german.html

Now I'm not saying Hillary would have fired up the ovens for the Jews and handicapped. There were some constitutional barriers to that, plus she would need EPA approval for the burning. And she would rather choose non-union workers instead of the handicapped anyways.

Uh, no. That is literally what Drumpf is trying to do. Not only that, he's the one insulting the handicapped (and basically every other group of people imaginable).

And FFS, that last paragraph was unnecessary. A disgusting remark.

I'm not sure this will change much. Coal is dead. Renewable energy is rapidly decreasing in price and increasing in number of people employed. California and New York will lead American policy in this regard, benefiting the rest of us via the only real "trickle down economics". Hopefully the next wave is mandating that all new housing developments incorporate PVs.

No, improvements won't happen as quickly as if the Feds supported green initiatives, but I don't think a (hopefully only) 4-year setback will be too difficult to overcome.

(1) Advising isn't endorsement.
(2) You can accomplish more advising somebody with whom you disagree than somebody with whom you agree. Do you prefer the President be advised by those with whom you agree or with those whom you disagree?
(3) Quitting accomplished nothing. Well, maybe it made things more polarized, and maybe Trump will have one more advisor with whom you disagree. Also, quitting is unmanly.

But hey. Showed him!

Advising is only useful if there is somebody listening. I applaud EM's pragmatic decision to try to make it work. But I equally applaud his decision to give up on a lost cause.

The only potential silver lining that I can see to this is that, hopefully, in four years (or maybe sooner!) the US electorate will have an enormous bout of remorse and elect the best president that they've ever had.

I know it would be hard to manage from a PR perspective , but I would rather Elon stay on the council and as involved as possible . Clearly he is able to inspire and affect others to take action. We need all the smart people in government we can get!

I would agree. But at a certain point, the cost/benefit ratio becomes unacceptable. I don't think that Trump is influenced by anybody. He's basically a horrible example of a greaseball used car salesman, with an oversized ego, playing with a pile of money that he got from daddy. I don't think he has the critical thinking capacity to understand what EM (or anybody else) is saying.

EM tried to sway some decisions and failed. There's no sense in him taking heat for being willing to talk with Trump if there's not going to be any positive outcome.

kind of like the russians conspiring with trump?
do you know the trail of clinton associates that have died under mysterious circumstances?

Regarding NPR...

"The Economist, BBC, NPR, PBS and The Wall Street Journal are among those with the highest ratio of trust to distrust"

Which news organization is the most trusted? The answer is complicated.

Regarding bias, most sources place NPR somewhere in the neighborhood of center to left leaning (but not solid left or extreme left).
