Trunk gasket fix?

Came across this video and was wondering if this was true and whether it would fix those trunk/water problems?

I did it anyway, but since I just washed my car couple days ago I don't want to test it with the water hose.

I have a March 2019 Model 3. I've always thought the area where the trunk panel meets the rubber gasket looked unfinished. After randomly seeing this video, I went and adjusted the gasket with a wood dowel. There is some discussion in the forums about whether the gasket is meant to be inside or out, but I can definitely say it's meant to be out, overlapping the panel. Not only does it look finished and keep water out, it makes a better "thump" sound, typical if nicer cars, when the trunk is closed. Every model 3 owner should check and make this easy 5 minute adjustment.

I have a different gasket too (build 7/18).

I don't think what he does in the video is right. He pulls out the rubber only on the lower part of the opening, and there is no room for it on the sides. No way the gasket is meant to stick out at the bottom and not the sides.
