Trunk Interior Switch

Anyone ever open the trunk interior switch ?

Are you supposed to pop off this cover?

That's the emergency mechanical release. Probably have to pop off the cover yes, but probably don't want to unless there is a true emergency as its not meant to be a regularly used release. The electronic release is inside the driver side fender well near the edge where the liftgate closes. Take a look in the manual.

out of pure curiosness I tried this some weeks ago.
Indeed you remove te cover and pull on the small attachment at the end of the cable you find behind it.

There's an electronic hatch control switch on the driver's side rear compartment for the cars with the 3rd row. Otherwise its the emergency hatch release that you see above.
