i took your very good idea and luckily got a LED stripe as a present for free.

may be a bit to long - what is the max watt load we can put on the 12V system?

Personally, I wouldn't recommend pulling much more power than the original bulb did. Since that light runs when the main contactor in the battery pack is open, I'd be cautious about drawing any more power than the OEM equipment.

I measured the current through the bulb at 12V when I did our car, but I don't remember what it was beyond noting in a post in this thread that the LED strip I used pulls about 2/3 of what the original bulb did.
