Trunk roof flaw.

While recently cleaning the trunk roof glass I noticed what looked like a bird dropping. When I tried to remove it I discovered it was not on the outside. When I tried to clean it from the inside it did not exist on the inside surface. It appears to be inside the glass like delamination. I have scheduled a service appointment but wondered if anyone else has experienced this issue. Attached is a photo.

That doesn't look like it's in the glass. It's something very acidic, like bird droppings, that got etched/baked into the surface. Have you tried using a cutting compound with a polisher? Or even claying the surface?
