Trouble lists according to my head (probability for bankwup).

Germany:
1.BMW
2.Daimler
3. VW

USA:
1.FCA
2.GM
3.F

I agree on Germany but in the US would swap GM and F. At least GM has produced a viable electric vehicle and has put serious effort into self-driving cars.

I suspect Hyundai/Kia will do well. They are l likewise already producing a viable electric car and will have access to some pretty advanced battery technology in Korea. They need to ramp everything up but they can count on the support of the Korean government to do so.

What part of "breaking into" the $330s sounds like a "decisive dip"?
Premarket breaks down into the $330s.
Because it's Mandy Patinkin birthday:
You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

~4 cent droop does not a break make. It broke 340 sure, but a break through 340?
break
1. A sharp price decline in a particular security or in the market as a whole. A break usually occurs when unexpected negative information is made public and investors rush to sell. Also called market break.
2. A discrepancy on the books of a brokerage firm.

SP currently down but recovering (9:40) drooping (9:41ish) and recovering (9:45ish am).

There’s an AP story running today in the local American press about EV vehicle electronic monitoring in China. It leads with Tesla as an example.

Model X owner “... didn’t know that Tesla constantly sends information about the precise location of his car to the Chinese government.” It adds “Tesla is not alone” but May be used by the FUDsters to try to end the week on a sour note.

As for young people changing with experience, I was thinking along the lines of the ones footing the bill increasingly voting with their feet as they tire of their tax bills (California Losing Residents Via Domestic Migration [EconTax Blog]).

False attribution. Housing costs are the main reason for migration away from California, as documented by surveys. Nothing to do with the tax rates, which are popular.

For some reason there is a right-wing habit to use absolutely anything, related or not, as an excuse to campaign for tax cuts, and it ticks me off.

And, surely, not counting your chickens before they hatch is always sound advice, especially on a market action thread.;)
Actually, counting your chickens before they hatch (carefully! probabilistically!) is the essence of investment. Think about it.

Buffalo is not a major city. That part of New York is so depressing that it has among the highest rate of drug overdose in the whole state because when you realize that you're stuck living in Buffalo death seems like an attractive alternative.

If you feel that way about Buffalo, I'd like you to take a visit to Lordstown, outside Youngstown. My point was *comparative*. Lordstown is really a very bad location.

I noticed the Bloomberg tracker continues to drop every day. Their graph indicates production will be below 4000 a week within the next week and around 3500 by year end. Think they need to either tune it up or get rid of it.

I vote for the latter.

How is the SR email a positive? They still can't make the SR profitable as of now, and the wording makes it sound like they don't have a plan to get there.

After options, if they're only $3k down on the base model SR non-PUP, even introducing SR would probably be net profitable - already (options are profit centres, and almost everyone adds at least some options). But production costs will continue to decline for quite some time. If they're only $3k away today, it can't be that long before they hit net profitability on it even without options.

Both Baillie Gifford and Saudi's Public Investment Fund announced investments in NIO. What do think of NIO as a diversification investment for the coming transition to EVs?

Couple of weeks back, sold some TSLA calls and was able to buy NIO stock for the same. ~ cheers
Hoping for 1 or 2 spikes in NIO just like what happened to KNDI a while back, and
Uglier in real life. But good luck to them.

Compare this to TSLA pickup, then you will really know what Uzly means ;)

By all means, please share with us your photos of the Tesla pickup which hasn't launched yet.

Also: Uzly is apparently Czech for "nodes".

I think it is positive. Elon maybe want the world know that build EV is not cheap to make and other manufacturers’ cost are lot more higher than TSLA because TSLA has its own battery GF So no competition to TSLA.

I only know that when the USD rises 1% (against our dollar), so does the value of my portfolio in AUD. As does yours, if you were, for example, selling a few shares to take a holiday in Australia.

So of course I'm cheering for both TSLA and the USD. A rise in one is as good as a rise in the other (unless I need to buy something from the US, like a model 3, for example).

This last bit is why a rising US dollar is bad for Tesla. Tesla has most of its production costs in US dollars, but a large percentage of its revenues in overseas currencies. A dropping dollar means more sales overseas, a rising dollar means fewer sales overseas.

Tesla is trying to "currency match" its operations by having an EU production plant and a Chinese production plant, after which this won't be as big an issue.
