Tesla Motors Club

Two week old inventory Model X (pre-Raven), black. I put it through the car wash, plugged it in just outside my house.

A neighbor called me later and said "there's a turkey attacking your car!". Sure enough, and there were a number of small scratches around the bumper area. Chased him off, and wrote it off as a fluke.

Then, other neighbors started saying the same thing, and they keep coming back! I do have a garage but it's small (with stuff like our lawnmower, bikes in it too) and the proximity sensors scream at me the whole time, rather stressful to park.

At first I thought it was the shiny black paint but that didn't explain why they're attacking *my* car. One of my relatives thought it was the magnetic field from an EV. I tried to Google "tesla magnetic field turkey attack" but that doesn't work out so well because of course Tesla is the unit of magnetic field strength... "electric car magnetic field turkey attack" didn't get me anything obvious either.

So, is my relative right? Anyone else have their Teslas attacked by turkeys?

(One later twist to this whole story...my car went in the shop over the last few days, I got a loaner S, and sure enough woke up this morning and the turkeys were attacking the S, and it wasn't noticeably more reflective than the other cars around)
