Got a mid-range VIN# for my P85D, but I have to schedule vacation and have no clue how many they'll be able to make in the next month. Any estimates?

In order to make the estimated delivery dates, P85D production has to start within a week.

    I dunno.

Seems odd to me that orders from right after the announcement have "Late December" yet they're still Estimating December delivery for P85D's not yet ordered. I'm hoping that "Late" is just precautionary and I get mine in mid-December

Mine started out with a "Late December" delivery date, but it changed to "December" a week or so later. That seemed to have happened to many of us.

Mine was "late december" when ordered the first week of October... now my dashboard just says "December".

I emailed my delivery specialist to see when I should go about solidifying finance, since most rates are only good for 30 days. He said I should probably wait til December 1st, as delivery currently looks like right around Christmas.

Odd the site builder still says "late December" for people submitting today. They must really be ramping up production.

Their latest blog post shows that they are building at approx 1000 per week.

Assuming that they continue at that pace, and work through Thanksgiving and Christmas, and a 2 week lead time from production beginning to delivery, they have 4.5 weeks to build cars that require shipment (and 2 weeks for factory/nearby deliveries, assuming they are doing that to maximize the deliveries for Q4-2014).

From the S Order/Delivery thread, 60414 went into production 2 days ago (unknown if they actually do work on the weekends), which suggests that with a reasonable distribution of cars for factory / nearby delivery, they can probably deliver everyone's cars -- but that we still might be waiting another 2 weeks for the first car to enter production(!!).

Tesla certainly made promises assuming "nothing goes wrong, and everything stays on a tight schedule".

At the current pace, I am not convinced that they will change this promised delivery date even after December is over. I don't believe that someone ordering today will actually get a December delivery.
