Sorry for posting this in an inappropriate forum, but this is where we post everything.

Was thinking about how(entirely appropriately) cold Elon is when it comes to layoffs/hourly workers/etc. Of course the media doesn't pay much attention to the upside of stock options employees get at Tesla and their current or potential value.

Do we have any insight into how many options the typical Tesla worker gets and their typical worth today if left untouched?

Hahaha! You think workers in the factories are getting stock options?!

Employee compensation is based on individual employees ability to negotiate their compensation package. Price of any options would be dependent on when the negotiations took place.

The “average” Tesla employee likely gets none.

Tesla granted 1.47m options in 2019, excluding Musk's plan. They haven't filed their shareholder meeting docs for this year yet, but in 2018 about 300k options went to C-suite execs and 600k to the board. Let's say 500k went to these folk in 2019, leaving 1m options for the other 50k employees. Mid-level management get the lion's share, 20k factory workers maybe get 5-10 shares each. If they get options at all -- Tesla has moved toward RSUs in a big way so it's possible stock comp for hourly workers is 100% RSU now.
