Well I am sure the MOD is thinking we have been here and done that but not in the EU.
Meyle designs new control arm for Tesla - electrive.com
As soon as I posted this I heard a noise not heard in many, many years. It blew my
brain out. Sorry to the Big dog and other seeking a quick fix.
My parner booked a service and was fixed in 5 days (16k miles but so what)
Now I am thinking if this was so easy what could be the upside of not getting it fixed.
If you have kids, well they will never sneak out at midnight. Coming home late,
the hood will know. The other feature I call the EWPS or early warning that your
partner is approaching home may give you a few extra minutes to tidy up.
Maybe there is use for the rusty balls after all.
Never mind.

Was auch immer du meinst? Es ist schwer, Sie zu verstehen.

We have been talking about the Meyle FUCAs (Front Upper Control Arms) since their press release on Sep 9th - post #188 on in the thread below:

I dropped them an email, but they cared about it as much as Rammstein would about Blumchen.

Yes I am hard to understand
1. Very happy with Tesa service here in Germany
2. Did not require dealing with grumpy Germans
3. 16k miles is very low for this type of failure, but its fixed for free
4. Anyone who has worked on old cars knows this sound and its painful.
5. the rest is well nosense

Alles klar and good to hear.

Curious - how did dealing with Tesla Service in Germany not require dealing with grumpy Germans? Is Tesla Service there staffed similarly to Giga-Berlin (in terms of demographics)?

There are many parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies on the 3/Y siblings that are poorly engineered. The FUCAs (at least up to the latest silver cast iron revision and the Meyle alternative) are a prime example.

So much so that getting to 16K miles prior to failure can be considered a win!
Many report subsequent failures with OEM replacements after just a few-few dozen more K miles/km. Tesla considers this 'within spec'.

If you do it all from the app, you have no reason to call a grumpy German.
They knew exactly what it was to show up and get it fixed.
even at OFest here, well some have to work, so like goes on.
Yes Germans do the work I guess, my better half did this without any Drama.
Maybe time for a beer?
