UK 2021 Model 3 Q1 collection and delivery experiences

So just collected my red LR from Southampton. everything great at first glance, but paint is absolutely covered in swirl marks.

The rep told me it was the valeting firm they were using and they noticed it on every car from the start of deliveries today at 9am.
He told me to log it in the app.

congrats - on the delivery!

Quick question.. how long did the whole handover process take? Did you have to queue and wait your turn?

Wow, those swirl marks are terrible. Looks like the whole car was wiped with a sponge from a dirty bucket of water.

When I picked up my M3P in Aug 2019 Dublin SC polished out a few tiny scratches very well but your car looks like it needs a full polish all over. Were all the cars the same?
 
Thorpe Park collection. Very few people. Super quick. Trade-in my old car. Only takes 5 mins. Locate my car. First thing to do is putting on screen protector. Steering heating, confirmed, great! Offered 2 hours free of supercharging before the Tesla app is activated.

Thanks for the update! Glad it's a quick thing - I really don't want to hang about at a closed (or open) Bluewater !

Any swirl marks all over your car as per post above?

Mine doesn't have swirl marks. Although it's not very clean, the building quality is good. So far, no defects found. 2 hours passed, Tesla app still not be activated.

Collected mine from Birmingham SC this morning. LR model 3. Heated steering wheel confirmed. The wood wraps around the dash now too. Handover was very quick only about 5 mins and off I went to inspect the car. SOC was at 80% which I was pleasantly surprised by. So far couple of niggles noticed while driving. 1 the steering wheel is not aligned centrally not sure if it’s just me I know they do veer the left later after few miles but at 6 miles didn’t think that’s normal. 2- horrible rattle from drivers window like the window is not seated properly. Told to log in the app. Couldn’t spot any crazy panel gaps. All cameras working fine too. Autopilot calibrated itself quite quickly. All in all happy just hope the niggles can be sorted later.

a couple i saw were the same, and the Tesla rep said they’d all been like that.
 
Thorpe park collection this morning at 9am. M25 busy but the collection centre was very quiet. Only took about 5 mins. They quickly inspected the trade in, got me to sign on paper then on an iPad then I handed over the keys and V5 for the trade in.

They then handed me the key cards and told me where it was in the car park. She also mentioned that they would not mark it as delivered for an hour and a half so we could get a free supercharge which we did at South Mimms where I got ~125Kw and met another Tesla driver who was admiring the 21 plate!

There are no obvious problems, it all looks great. Heated steering wheel is there and works well. I had ~43% charge on delivery (LR) so appreciated the free supercharge. A message popped up on the way home after the supercharge saying the 1 year premium connectivity trial had started so I assume that’s when they marked it as delivered.

Autopilot calibrated very quickly and worked amazingly well on the M25. The only gripe I have is I can’t find how to enable the satellite view on the map. If anyone has any pointers that would be greatly appreciated!

I hope everyone else’s collection experience and car quality is as good as mine!

Tap the bottom left hand side of the map, you'll see some icons appear, one is for satellite view.
Thanks but I only see the charging icon. It seems to be on an older software version (it started with 2019 and has the smaller car view at the side with the larger map). Maybe I need to set the updates to Advanced and check for an update again although I have seen reported problems with the newer versions like saving of driver profiles. Do you think it could be due to the older software?

May be worth doing a screen reset if it hasn't been done since premium connectivity was added. Hold the two steering wheel buttons down and hold the screen will go blank, release when the Tesla logo appears.
