Ive ordered on the 1st Sept and received no VIN yet, they told me I was in the “first batch”. So I don’t know if they’re including the august deliveries as a Q4 batch or not.

Anyway, it doesn’t look like any Sept orders have had vins yet(?). But I was told next week.

I'm not sure of the process but I think the first batch of VIN/delivery texts have gone out to those who ordered mid-late August... next batch might be early Sept, then mid Sept, etc - hopefully week on week but we'll see!

I ordered 2nd Aug , have a VIN but no delivery text as yet , I don't mind waiting it's the not knowing that's a killer

I also ordered an ID3 and it is estimated to be 26 to 30 weeks. Even before I have never had a factory order delivered in less than 3 months. I kinda like what Tesla are doing. There will be some disappointments but the vast majority should get a car sooner.

I am trading in my ID3 for a Tesla M3LR, way too many issues and the random emergency breaking on mortorways has scared me with or without ACC on, spoke with VW a few times but they never send over the emails or they send the wrong thing annoying, anyways been offered more than I paid for my ID3 so it’s not that bad is it… been paid to drive a good few 1000 miles

At one point VW had it for 8 days… I hope the M3 is better, much better

Fairly sure I’ve seen some first week of September orders with Vins in this thread a few pages back. I’m 9th myself so hoping to get a VIN next week or the one after.

Yep. Early sept order for us (not sure of exact date the order was placed as its on a lease). Both VIN and collection date received.

Same text here, and likewise went and booked at same place, date and time again

I spoke to them too as mine was pushed back 2 days, they said it's likely due to either bad weather or reschedule arrival at the dock or both but advised my date will be the date provided.

M3LR MS 18” black interior ordered 26th august RN received 3rd sept through work leasing scheme. Still no text with VIN or to arrange delivery. Seems others with different specs but later order date have been contacted.

I’ve noticed that as my finance was approved today Tesla reissued my booking invoice from 20th Oct to todays date and added 1000 euro to my order in line with the increase in M3 SR+ price. I placed my order long before the price increase. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have read dozens of posts talking about receiving or not receiving a VIN - what is the significance of receiving the VIN no? Why do you want the VIN no, what are you going to do with it?

VIN means your car has been allocated to you, which means it's either on, or about to be on, a ferry coming to the country. Probably means you'll get a delivery text not soon after with a collection date

You can also insure your car with the VIN I believe.

Just had a message from Tesla saying they had to cancel my scheduled delivery for 11/11 and I have to re-book. Followed the link and was able to book the same date I had before

My leasing company contacted me yesterday to ask if it was ok to change my collection location.

The NEC site is closing, and reverting back to St. Andrews.

Still no vin….

Received a text message from Tesla confirming my RN number and for me to set up an account.

I presume (?) that you can't have a RN until the car is registered i.e. taxed. If that s correct do they register and tax your car and then leave it sat somewhere until your paper work gets to the top of the in-tray.

The RN is just the order reference, you get this as soon as the order is placed

probably a long gap between those two events mine was over a month
