Wish I could get my registration number sooner....I've already missed the "ideal" time to buy car insurance which is really frustrating.

According to moneysavingexpert its just going to get more and more expensive the closer I get to delivery.

You don’t need the registration number to obtain an insurance quote. You can obtain the quote now saying you haven’t yet purchased the vehicle then come back to the saved quote, once you have the reg.

Unfortunately thats not true for all insurers though....and the one that I originally had the cheapest estimate from, by just putting in a random numberplate I found on autotrader - won't even quote me without a registration number...

I will be ringing around tomorrow though now that I have a collection date and see what kind of money i'm looking at.

£950 is the price to beat!

Delivery text received today and home delivery 9th March!! (4 weeks tomorrow!), it’s going to be a long 4 month! Trying to get day off... hopefully doesn’t arrive too late in the day... (RHD LR white on black, tow hitch).

Drooling on the ships lying at the port of Zeebrugge, waiting for Spica Leader to get her cars loaded and going offshore again for deliveries to Drammen, Norway...

Does anyone have an idea about how long time it usually takes to empty/fill these boats? (Glovis Captain, Spica Leader)..

I have just done mine with LV for £523 for the year, I just gave them my Vin and they said just to let them know the reg number when I get it. I have also just got Gap insurance through ALA for £133 for 4 years with a £40000 top-up limit (using discount MSE25).

Depends how full they are, number of stevedores, schedule.

Usually a PCC would spend anywhere between 18-36 hours in port for a normal load or discharge. Quite often they are part load/discharges, it's unusual to entirely empty/fill a ship in one port as they are usually on a rotation between different ports.

We’re clearly not the targeted demographic for LVE as they wanted £1200! Admiral have come in at £552, which is what we were expecting. Quote saved, just waiting on registration number!

Received the final invoice today asking for the money. The VIN is on there, however no registration number, unfortunately.

So now that Tesla have asked us to pay up before collection, I’m trying to work out what I should put in our bank transfer reference. On the account page it says we should use the RN as the reference, however on the final invoice it says to use the invoice number. Does it matter which we use?

It doesn't seem to matter (I sent a small test amount to both) but if you end up having multiple invoices (not uncommon), I would put the invoice number on it to make it clear what it relates to.

Hi all - first post! Ordered as a company car a couple of weeks ago and today received an email asking me to set-up my Tesla account password...
Company Car provider aren't very helpful at this stage and have said they don't know anything - does that email indicate anything or not?

Order a Blue M3 with white interior....

It’s a Tesla thing. Just download App and create account with same phone number and email that you have your lease/company to order car and just wait for texts to arrive with matching, deliveries, etc... and let Your company/lease know as Tesla tend to then inform you but not the lease company that much.

Hi. Due to pick up Tesla 3 on Friday. What battery charge is the car handed over at? I have quite a long journey back and don't want to be charging for hours before I drive home.

The amount of charge you will get seems to vary greatly, but as most (all?) Tesla sites have superchargers there and from what I've heard, you can charge for free on your day of collection, I'd say at most you will have to charge for 40 minutes and if you get that started immediately you can charge while your doing your vehicle checks.

Unless you intend to charge from a 3 pin plug, I cannot see you charging for hours. Also you will find that the key to avoiding hours charging is to avoid charging beyond about 80% when away from home.
And @Wardaz also say you have got only 60% at collection, and don’t get chance to plug to charge at SC while waiting for collection/paperwork (car will be cold so slower charging speed)..., drive for a while, navigate to supercharger (when you are there around 10-15% approx) on route and charge for 15-20mins at Max speed (that’ll take you to around 70% at least).
