I think I actually nabbed one of those 5 blue M3s you were looking at yesterday. It's definitely possible to turn the order around. I actually ordered in white, and they managed to switch my order over to blue (which meant updating the lease financing) in just a couple of hours. Luckily inventory was still there, as they can't allocate the inventory until the order has updated.

There's no harm in trying! Good luck!
Cheers. I've requested a callback this morning on one of them but still waiting.

Hmmm. After a quick search on here it seems that requesting callbacks is a waste of time.

How do you actually speak to someone directly about a car before ordering it?

Does someone call you to discuss delivery once you've ordered it?

If you go on the inventory page, a live chat button should show up in the bottom right. I normally use that.

Meant to be picking car up next week. Text update says number plate has been assigned. Text message also chasing for payment. But there is no update on my tesla account on where to send payment to. Is this the norm?
Also can I only take out insurance on pick up as number not yet registered with dvla.

Most insurance companies will let you insure before the car is registered with the DVLA, that's the norm for new cars. How you do it with your insurance company varies wildly, some will let you do it online by just telling them the make/model/etc, some will let you do it using the VIN (you tell them the reg when you have it) and some will only do it by phone.

My insurance quote has rocketed up overnight - not sure why/how this has happened! The best quote I've had at the moment is £890 p/y - shame I have to mark it as 'company lease' as if it was private I could have been insured for the year for £450!

I did a cursory insurance quote on a comparison site last night in preparation for the shock of the premiums. That was about the same, with £400 voluntary excess.

I haven't phoned Direct Line or Admiral yet though. I'm hoping as Tesla specialists they might do a bit better.

I might just take the hit of the higher premium for year one and keep the excess as low as possible just in case someone local doesn't like my new Tesla and wants to get hands on. Then up it again in year two to lower the premium if all goes well.

Haha - yeh, lot's of angry petrol heads my way so I might do the same...

Direct Line has refused to quote me, strangely. Churchill is where I got the cheapest quote - adding a named driver reduced it by £200!

Thought I'd give Tesla a call (bet they hate us) and they said that mine would likely be Aug/Sept now and then said, unless there is one on the inventory available in which case I can match you quickly now  - the only ones there are demonstrators though and as a Lease mine needs to be new. He said all cars in the country are sold/assigned.

I've had this as well - did a quote a couple of weeks ago and got a reasonable quote of around £500 for a M3 LR. Repeated it yesterday with same insurer/details etc and the quote had doubled! 🤯

Fortunately the first quote was still valid and I got my numberplate details through from Tesla, so just rang the insurers up and paid for the policy to lock in the insurance at the lower figure. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to insurance quotes.

Now got to wait until 25th to pick up the car though....

Prices shift based on time left to cover, the cheapest quotes will be 23-25 days beforehand. The shorter the window, the greater the price

Great, thanks! That all sounds very sensible, re taking the driving license and a signed letter as well. Not that we've had the delivery text yet, but it's good to know we might not be stuck with weekends. :)
BTW, I had a response from [email protected] this morning to say they have received my wife's email with the instructions of who the person is to pick up the car and have updated this on the system. So might not take the letter and just this email with my DV instead.

So got the email today from Tesla confirming payment has been made and cleared. So thought I would phone to confirm delivery was on track for Tuesday.
Spoke to a Tesla adviser who put me on hold to check details, While on hold I get a text and as I was about to read it I was taken off hold and a sounding slightly panicked Sales adviser said, Please ignore the text you just got its wrong, Car is being collect from Glasgow on Tuesday and will be with you between 8am and 8pm, He then gave me the info that once the car is picked up I will receiving tracking info etc. (Being 4 hours from Glasgow Ive now resigned myself to an afternoon delivery.

Once I got off the phone I thought Ill just have a look at the text that was sent, Which said my car was ready for collection from Glasgow from 8am onwards tomorrow! So anyway I know its there so just hope the delivery driver on Tuesday doesn't get lost.

It seem my part ex is what is holding things up. Hopefully have the update for payment by monday

Thanks. Will wait till Monday to sort out insurance as tesla account is still not caught up will the text messages. For a tech company they don't seem to be doing great with the notifications and update

That's fab! And sounds alarmingly efficient. :)

(The date Tesla suggested coincides with a pre-holiday day off, so we're both going up, probably by train and bus, so we can share the drive back together. We're going to take the M3 down the M5! We had a text with VIN and registration number today, which the fleet company needed to put insurance in place, so I think everything is in place now.)

Dealing with EST is a bit frustrating to say the least. They are all very friendly, but you can't help feel that your file is an actual folder sitting on some dusty desk awaiting somebody to deal with it. Good luck, I am hoping that the funds will finally be transferred tomorrow. No information, that's just my guess.
At least your car is here, mine is still on the way up from Southampton - went to Tesla Glasgow yesterday (which still looks exactly the same as a couple of months ago) to sort out some accessories.

Finally got an email confirming payment, says the money should reach me within 5 working days. So Wednesday morning was when awaiting payment started and now Friday morning I have the payment confirmed. Only took nearly 50 days...
