Locals report groundworks underway indicating that the new Supercharger equipment is going in at Edinburgh Newbridge - +8 V3 opposite the existing 8 bays. Glasgow will have to wait a bit longer/make do with Eurocentral for the time being!
I can confirm the bases are going in at Newbridge . Stopped by for quick check on way past today but couldn't get a decent photo. Definitely need more in Scotland and not just in the central belt. To make travel round the whole country easier they don’t just have to be in groups or 8, 12 or 16: the 2 V2 units from Edinburgh airport could usefully go elsewhere and there are two V2s from Aviemore still kicking around waiting for a new home. Putting lots near population centres is fine but judging from the number of Teslas in the North West Highlands this year we need a few more in the north. A couple of years ago the only EVs you would see up there were from motoring journos writing hand-wringing pieces on range anxiety whilst charging off extension cords hung out hotel windows but that's all changed pretty quickly!

🔥🔥🔥16x Superchargers being worked on at Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock, Essex. Appears to be another one that falls under the Intu/ex-Intu project.
These will hopefully be in addition to the Thurrock Services install.
hopefully can be completed before Christmas.
We currently have (at least) 12 sites of 132 bays under active construction so let’s hope for a bumper load of openings before year end!

16x SuC at Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock, Essex are at location (51.4895861, 0.2866899).
Photos to follow to show hardware being installed but as these are at an Intu (or ex-Intu) site there is a possibility we may find they are V2 as those were installed at Uxbridge and Derbion.

Just this minute received a photo from a friend checking out sites showing a large substation unit and fencing on site in the corner of Moto Ferrybridge. Hopefully this is the beginning of works there for GridServe plus Tesla. He’s local so will send update photos as soon as he spots anything happening.
it’s a fresh delivery of fencing in a pile so clearly about to section off a large area.

Trafford Centre is ex-Intu as well.
Looks like it’s ‘place your bets’ for Intu. Milton Keynes, Watford, Newcastle, Nottingham? Where will the dice land next.
Here’s a list I made a few months back of the sites that were in the Intu group (many now sold off but still appearing to be involved with Superchargers).

photos of the Lakeside Thurrock site show 4x V3 cabinets in situ, plus all sixteen bays have cables laid. So all down to the SuC engineers to place and wire the tombstones. A few days work at most for that but obviously there’s making good of the tarmac, line painting and the all important switch on so lots of potential for adding time.

Anyone know about progress in Rownhams (M27) as nothing seems to have started despite planning has supposedly been approved?
I heard the Winchester SC ones have issues with getting power access from the Merc dealership next door.
My understanding is that power is all solved at Winchester so it’s just waiting for switch on.
Rownhams is the first Roadchef project and so they may be getting their ducks in a row before getting started. It is still listed as a “Q4 2021” project so hopefully just a little slow getting underway.

That was the issue several months ago but the roads were dug up and the power cable was laid some time ago.
