Hi All,

I am new to the forum so please bear with me!

I am based in the UK and have a 2012 Roadster. I am looking for recommendations for somebody who can help me with my car.

To cut a long story short, I have a Roadster which is extremely low mileage. However, the battery was disconnected from the car (fully disconnected) very early on in the car's life. We believe it was charged when disconnected but obviously that was some time ago, so we don't know for sure.

I am looking for someone who can test the battery to see if it is still alive (appreciating it may be a bit of a long shot!).

If it is not "bricked" I would be looking to get it all connected back up and get the car running again.

I was wondering, is there anyone at all in the UK who can help me?

Many thanks!

Alex

Hi Spaceballs,

Yep it is out of the car which gives us the added complication that it is really difficult to ship the the battery overseas to the US-based specialists. We could put it in the car and ship it but if it turns out to be bricked it would be an expensive exercise to get the rest of the car back.

We are not certain how long the battery has been out but for certain it will have been a good few years. Probably since shortly after the car was delivered.

Nice that's it out, and you have HV experience, you can take the front cover off, and you then can measure each sheet voltages (there is 11 of them). Once you have those numbers it should give you more information on what to do next.

Thanks so much for the help! I have absolutely zero EV experience though unfortunately - I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to these things.

Is it something I could be talked through or does it need a good technical grasp/specialist equipment? I do know some guys who have EV experience but have never touched or seen a roadster so they are a bit hesitant to come look at it!
