How do you check? I got mine late September 2019

They all have the grill.. it's a standard part.. but to date no UK cars have been found to have a speaker.

The 'hole' that the loom and speaker goes in showed clear signs of water ingress on mine so yes it'd need to be waterproof.. your standard speaker from maplins wouldn't work.

Just battled the rain to have a look it appears i have a little speaker grill near the driver side front wheel on the new refresh model. Didnt look there was anything at the rear.

Am i right to assume its either a grill and no speaker or its for somethong else? Happy to take a clear photo it would help

It's where the speaker would fit but it isn't fitted. You'd know if it was as you would have noticed a warning sound at low speeds.

That means you can't use VIN as mine with a higher VIN and later delivery date has no loom.

It's going to be random presumably based on what parts the guy building it picked up, up to a certain date.
