anyone know when us brits will be able to order the Y

I am afraid I have not seen any information on this, and would like to see the answer to your question.

The main problem with the model 3 ramp seemed to relate to producing the battery/drivetrain. If, as stated, the same platform is used for the Y then hopefully about a year can be taken out of the production ramp. 75% part commonality should hopefully also reduce the amount of new engineering for the RHD version of the Y. As a result I would hope/guess it will not take the 2 years from production start to RHD versions being produced that we are seeing for the model 3. However this is all surmise - an estimate from Tesla would be nice

Looks like volvo are about to launch the all electric xc40 so it will be interesting to see pricing and availability on that as i would def consider versus model Y

Sadly the Y is looking out for me as I have to take delivery sept 2020 and no sign of UK Y till 2021 from what I've read.. Will have to be Polestar or maybe XC40 depending on availability

As they are starting production 3-6 months earlier than the original announced date then you are probably in with a good chance. Like @Haf autumn 2020 would be optimum for me but that seems too optimistic. Let's hope we have a positive surprise

Store told me no so I ordered a cybertruck. Got my X till 2022 so I’m guessing I’ll be able to get either the Y or CT by then or before.

I'm going to skip the Y and go for CT. Probs give 3 to wife and get a CT. Long wait though.... especially in UK.
