UMC Gen 1 40A exchange

Hi, I'm looking for someone willing to exchange an UMC Gen 2 in good condition for an UMC Gen 1.

My gen 1 is used, but in very good condition, and works flawlessly. It includes the nema 5-15 for a household plug, and the nema 14-50 for 40A charging, as well as the bag. The bag has a small cut that never bothered me (check pictures).

I might need to use the UMC abroad, and the reason for the exchange is to be able to use Tesla plugs (instead of adapters, which might not be a good idea).

Preferably, exchange personally in Utah, but we can discuss shipping.

Good deal for anyone who wants an extra 8 amps of charge speed (not negligible - that means 25% faster charging). The Gen1 usually sell for $50 or so more than the Gen2.

Curious - why doesn't the Gen 1 work in Europe with proper adapter-to-wall cord? If you consider selling the Gen 1, I might be interested

I'm sure it would. Tesla doesn't officially support using adapters or extension cords. There's a temperature sensor in the plug and, with an adapter, that sensor is only "sensing" one side of the plug so there's risk on the wall side if that were to overheat. So make sure that the adapter-plug side is secure. Additionally the adapter would need to be rated for the current being pulled.

I was hoping to find a shucko adapter for gen1, but the European version of the charger is different, and I can't plug a Tesla schuko for EU gen1 in a US gen1.

And if I use another kind of adapter, there are the issues @thefrog1394 mentioned.

Just a comment, because I see in some DMs that people are getting wrong impressions. There are not many messages in this thread, but I have a lot of activity through DMs. In fact, there is already a deal in place for a swap, I'll notify all of you through here if the deal works out or not.
