Unable to sign into app or Tesla account

It looks like there might be a major outage right now. I can't sign into my app, or account on Tesla.com. The phone number is ringing busy.

I tried to log into the app. It doesn't detect any products (I have a Model 3 out in the garage) and it doesn't remember who I am.

I picked up my new car today so was at Tesla in Manchester Uk. There servers where down there too and they said they have no idea what’s going on. This was 18.00 GMT. I left at 19.00 and they said they where still down.

I’m sure key fobs still worked. There have been mixed reports on whether model 3/Y owners were able to use their phone as key, which uses Bluetooth and should not be tied to the status of a Tesla server.

The phone app does not use Bluetooth. It communicates with the Fremont servers. And then your car is connected to Fremont. If the Fremont Tesla servers are down, then you are out of luck using the phone app to unlock your car or for that matter any app functions. For Model S/X the key fob will still work and for Models 3/Y the key card will still work. They communicate independently with the vehicle; not using Bluetooth.

That’s not true. Tesla network may be down and bluetooth still works to unlock your 3 or Y. I have experienced this before.

@mrElbe, I regularly find it impossible to connect to the Tesla app while on cell service. That has never once stopped my phone from working as key card for my model 3. I wasn’t aware of the outage at the time of the outage to test it yesterday.
