That is why the Porsche Taycan actually has a transmission, even though there is zero need for those except for ICE, and why they have fake sounds and no regenerative braking
A lot of what you said were true, but this absolutely isn't. Porsche has performance targets they set that they wanted to meet, they didn't have a carbon rotor like Tesla Plaid, therefore they needed a 2 speed gearbox for the acceleration and top speed targets for the Taycan.

They do have regen braking, it's just not setup like 1 pedal driving in a Tesla.
