They don't draw much power at all. There are USB powered ones here, so that's normally 100 mA @ 5V DC, or 500 mA @ 5VDC worst case. My son has one that came with a 12 VDC (yes DC!) mini wall wart, which is 250 mA @ 12 V DC. So I'd guess they use less than 5 watts overall.

ooohhhh. I like that idea. The plasma ball would actually be more protected in an interior case (as opposed to just resting on top) and we could surround it with a black background so it would show up better.

This is going to look good.

Maybe we would call it our "Mr Fusion" recharging unit.
