Unplugged Performance becomes an official Tesla Service Center!

If this Instagram post is anything like how it sounds, it seems Unplugged Performance will be the first officially licensed, independent, 3rd party Tesla Service Center.

This is big news for the community and ought to serve a foundation for how Tesla service should evolve moving forward.

Huge Kudos to Tesla for opening this up!

How do you figure that? Usually 3rd party shops add onto the price of the part to make a profit, they sure as heck don’t sell you the part cheaper than they bought it for.

Also it seems like Tesla is going the way of traditional car manufacturers with the 3rd party dealer... something Tesla and their hardcore fan base despised.

Why does it say an “authorized SERVICE and repair shop”.
Thats confusing, it’s making it sound like a Tesla owner can take their car in for service to them instead of Tesla service center.

Popular repair areas we support include most broad categories of Tesla repair such as suspension, brakes, interior, and body. There are some repairs however only Tesla can do such as battery pack purchasing and pairing. It is case by case but please feel welcome to ask us depending on the services requested. * Please note that we offer a wide range of services but we are not a "Tesla Service Center". We are independently operated, we cannot perform warranty work free of charge and there are indeed some specific parts on the vehicle which can only be serviced directly by Tesla. However on the warranty topic we are an alternative path towards warranty work for anyone accepting to pay for parts and labor. We provide Tesla parts at standard Tesla pricing and our labor rate is currently $125/hr.
