Unpublished change to 2021 Model 3

Changed to my winter wheels this week, for the first time on my 2021 Model 3. Rang Tesla today to inform them my Tyre monitoring was not working, could they fix it?
They informed me that the 2021 is connected via bluetooth and for the monitoring to work I would need a set of new wheel sensors at £64 each plus fitting or live with it until the spring.....

I take it the wheels are older than the current Model 3?

I thought it was pretty common knowledge the 2021 cars use Bluetooth for the TPMS.

Not common knowledge, but maybe foolish to assume that wheels from an older car would fit without issues. TPMS sensors have been a thing for some time and a car that tells you the pressures obviously has them.

True, probably because I was looking into aftermarket wheels I knew this.

Yes these are the third model 3 they have been used on. I was surprised as the Tesla guy at the suc didnt remind me of that before I instituted this seasons change. It doesn't really matter as TPMS is a bit of an unnecessary device

It would be nice if they had a change log for the hardware (although even the software change logs are pretty poor) It is quite hard to keep up with what each version of car has.

Did you get Tesla to change the wheels? Pretty poor form to let you discover it wasn't working rather than tell you at the time.
